Shangmi (Sherimy) Xie is currently in her 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. In May 2019, she will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in structural design. 

In summer 2016, Sherimy participated the Penn State Rome AE Study Abroad Program, a program focused on studying ancient structures and historical aspects of Rome architecture. In summer 2017, Sherimy had an internship with SLA Architectural Design Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China. During the internship, Sherimy contributed on the building facade design and building floor plan and elevation editing. Sherimy passed the FE Exam this past March and will gain EIT status upon graduation. She is willing to start her career in structural design field and look forward to gain professional experience worldwide. 

Beside academic, Sherimy interested in painting, hand crafting and photography. She also enthusiastic in learning foreign language that she self-learned Japanese last summer.
